The Real Problem

"there ain't many real problems exist in this world,
those problem that cannot be resolved,
can only be considered as real problem."
- Brother Mole

“A problem that can be solved, can not be considered as a real problem.” Brother Mole was saying this in an angry tone, like he was saying this to the whole world, but unfortunately, at that moment there was only me and a creaking standing fan in his dark living room.

“I might be able to help.” I tried to console him.
“Even if I can’t, there would be some people I know who might be able to offer some helps or services.” While saying this I quickly glanced at my watch.
I had been here for the past two and a half hour.
The cup of jasmine tea on the side table had already been cool off.

“Heiya, like I told you, this is a real problem we are facing here, this is not a metaphorical problem; nor this is a metaphysical problem, this is a real hard-to-solve problem, as hard as a nutshell. Please do not waste your energy here. A real problem ain’t to be solved. No one can!” Brother Mole said. When he has drawn a conclusion on a subject or something, no one can ever change his mind.

The 5pm sun was toasting the street.
When I left Brother Mole’s apartment, I had no idea what the problem was about.

He was the one who called me earlier on, telling me he was facing a real problem. I was there not for the cold jasmine tea.

Sigh. what actually the problem really was, I wondered.

The dog with muddy marks all over the fur was called by the name of Muddyboo. This was how the owner named it.
The owner was a sentimental kind of person with an unstable temperament. Muddyboo was always starving, never did he blamed the owner.
In one chilly morning, Muddyboo licked off all the fur on the floor, closed the door lightly and left the house.
Standing in a half crowded platform, Muddyboo was looking aimlessly at an approaching train, pondering about his future.

After she had chased the boyfriend away, Emma lost her focus in life and the ability to cry.
It seemed in a very short while she had past through several difficult lives.

One day in May, while she was switching mindlessly in between tv channels, she got to know about the earthquake in Szechuan.

She started to realise that there was so many things happening in this world that she had never actually concerned about. Her tears fell uncontrolled liked the water fall of Cataratas del Iguazu.

She wiped off the tears only discovered the plant at the corner of the room was dried up, and the dog named as Muddyboo had disappeared.

She had found all the possible places that she used to walk the dog. Grass field, wild land and lake park, you name it. The beautiful scenery only reminded her of the memory of being with Muddyboo.

‘Muddyboo, Muddyboo!’ Emma shouted restlessly.
People were glancing at her in a different way, indeed a dog lover would never call a dog in such a name.

Exhausted. She was sitting on a rubble wall.
The trees without leaves only made everyone felt sad.

She thought of all the things that shouldn’t have happened.
Regretful tears was rising in her eyelids like the water in the earthquake dam, in the edge of collapse, anytime.

She hurried and rushed into the last train. Someone was shouting behind. She wouldn’t care much now. She was very tired.

She found a quiet place to sit.
In the dim moonlight, the passing trees outside the cabin window were waving at her like ghosts.

In a sudden a huge shadow appeared in front of her, she regained her consciousness, it was the train inspector, “god damn it!” she grumbled inside, she had just lost her train ticket.

Anxiously she raised her head up as she wanted to beg a pardon or just to explain something, anything…

what she met was a familiar and warm smile.
